About us
The story of this land and its beings has been one of great hardship but also of great magic and wonder.
This is the story of one man's journey, his vision, his faith, his tenacity and strength, his indomitable spirit, his courage, his love for humanity and all it's beings and the fire within his incredible heart, now burning incessantly in the Heartlands in Co. Clare, Ireland.
In 2021 Séan Kilkenny and his 40 horses were evicted from his place of employment after 13 years of service. His successful business decimated due to the Lockdowns, left with no income residence or shelter for his horses - His entire world imploded..
For the past 6 years and at times in deep and utter despair, the monumental task of keeping his beloved "Forgotten Horses" alive, the fire has continued to burn and has become a safe port of call, a beacon of light for many bringing comfort and awareness to Mental Health and Well-Being.
In the midst of incredible adversity, eire's Greatest Equine, Education, Training & Heart Healing Center is now being built. This vision is being co-created as we stand in awe witnessing the magic unfolding before our very eyes.

These last few months we’ve made incredible progress with our Meitheal Madness Months. We’ve had hundreds of kind strong and inspired people come to the land and help us build new toilets, work on the garden , stone circle, well, tool shed, rose garden, bird house, cabin and most importantly the sacred fire of peace.

Want to help?
To anyone feeling called to support The Forgotten Horses, there are many ways you
can help out. We have a huge list of many projects that need materials and trades people, machinery and professionals with their expertise can all help us with their equipment, materials and trades life skills
Some bring fodder, a bale of hay and some carrots and apples for treats. Some drop off the odd bag of feed. There is also an Honesty box at the gate where many people often leave a spare €10, sometimes more, sometimes less to support the vision and journey, thus it gives them a place to donate outside their names, often attached to trail.
Every donation touches our hearts and we measure everything from the heart, knowing the circumstances of many people who support us already have over weighing financial, physical and sometimes mental burdens of their own.
